Privacy Policy
This Policy explains what data Chant Counter collects and how it is used. The App is operated from megachant.com.
1. Data we collect
- Account: name and email from Google Sign-In; optional phone number you enter.
- Profile photo: if you upload one (stored as an image; max 2 MB, JPEG/PNG).
- App activity: chants you create or join, counts, invites, reports, and help messages.
- Contacts (optional): accessed only when you choose “Invite from contacts,” to help invite friends. We do not upload your full address book for marketing.
- Device: push notification token so we can send invite/milestone alerts you opt into.
- Diagnostics: crash and error reports via Sentry (may include device/app version; avoid putting secrets in chant text).
- Advertising: Google AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and usage for ad delivery. We configure non-personalized ads where possible for V1.
2. How we use data
To provide sign-in, sync counts, invites, moderation, support (Help us), push notifications you enable, improve reliability, and show ads after login.
3. Processors / hosting
We use Supabase (auth, database, storage), Google (Sign-In, AdMob), Expo/Firebase (push), Resend (Help us email), Cloudflare (website/invite pages), and Sentry (errors). Data may be processed outside India depending on those providers’ regions.
4. Export your data
You can export your profile and chant/count data as a PDF from Profile → Export my data in the App. Export is limited to once per 24 hours to prevent abuse.
5. Delete your account
Use Profile → Delete my account. Your account is scheduled for deletion after a 7-day grace period (you can cancel from Profile during that time). After deletion, personal data is removed or anonymized per our retention practices, except where we must keep records (e.g. abuse investigations) for a limited time.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Content you make Public or share via Friends invites is visible to other users as designed. We may disclose information if required by law.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
8. Your choices
Notification preferences, vibration/sound, photo upload, contacts permission, and ad personalization settings (via OS / Google) are under your control. You may revoke OS permissions in device settings.
